Giants of Rock 2018 Preview Posted on Tue 9th January 2018

Butlins delivers another gigantic line-up of Rock Music Greats

Giants of Rock returns to the fabulous Butlins Minehead holiday resort for its fifth outing at the end of January (26th – 29th January 2018).

It’s a heady combo. The best of Butlins polished holiday resort offering and a mighty collection of rock greats. GOR offers up a powerful line-up in 2018 and the events ever growing legion of the faithful can expect a collection of some of the greatest rock artists to grace the stage over the last fifty or so years. Hawkwind, Uriah Heep, Magnum, and Nazareth lead an ensemble featuring some of the best the broad rock church has to offer. The extensive bill also includes other wonderful exponents of the rock genre with the likes of Slade, Big Country, and Curved Air filling the weekend with some thrilling mastery of the many shades of the Rock canon. No fillers here. Don’t forget GOR always offer a decent peppering of young emerging acts across the weekend too – so the bill offers something for most musical peccadillos whatever your tastes.

Overlay all that with the Butlins experience and the weekend is virtually guaranteed to be an absolute cracker. Our Festival For All reviewers simply love the whole concept that a Butlins festival weekend offers. It’s all the best bits of a festival, a gig, and rock cabaret rolled into one. The facilities are on the button, the many food and drink outlets excellent, and the accommodation options offer something for most pockets. Throw the excellent Butlins Minehead site into the mix, with its excellent amenities, and the lovely resort of Minehead just a short stroll along the prom, and there is nothing to fault here. The excellent crowd know their stuff and the weekend simply fizzes along. The promise of a warm bed and yer own facilities swings it for our reviewers every time!  Here’s what FFA thought of the 2017 bash - it’s just a flavour of what goes down: Giants Of Rock Review 2017.
