Yorkshire Wassail is back!

The show that was a hit in Whitby and around the county a couple of years back is making a return for two shows this coming weekend.Organised by Festival On The Moor the first show will be at Saltburn School on December 8th from 7.30pm and the second at the fabulous Joan Of Arc Hall in Botton nr Danby on December 9th from 3.30pm.

Both shows feature the voice and guitar of Richard Grainger, plus The Shooting Stars Sword Dancers, Nick Emery as Captain Cook an array of singers and musicians including multi instrumentalist Chris Parkinson, Christine Williamson, Chris Milner, Penni McLaren Walker , Steve Dawes, local drumming group Ee Bar Drum, Lutenist Pete Lagan and The Wassailers.

The hosts for both evenings will be Maggie Gee and Hadden Grainger.

There’s lots in the show including traditional carols, topical and traditional folk songs and music, plus poetry,and the East Cleveland Sword Dance and Mummers Play which will be performed by a group of local young people. There’s even an appearance of Captain Cook as he discovers Christmas Island. 

Refreshments and Seasonal snacks will also be available, tickets for the Saltburn event £6/£5 will be available at the door or in advance from here
