To be held in the superb grounds of York Sport’s Club, in Shipton Road on the 29th June 2013 their line-up is proving to be the best showcase of local talent the City has seen in years.
This will be a ticket only event and acts now include, Icehole, Littlemores, Montego Bay, FUNKtion and the Young Minds, Andy Doonan, Asio’s Eyes, Barcode Zebra….. PLUS two of the biggest and best tribute bands there are around, Oasish and Kazabian – both nationally acclaimed for their performances.
With a main stage AND an acoustic stage – no matter what your music tastes - the Apollo has something for you!
As York is known for its family feel and organizers are making sure there’s something for everybody, they have added attractions to include a full fun fair, stalls aplenty, and even an open air theatre display!
Of course, this is not only a great day out, it’s also all in support for a great cause – the Teenage Cancer Trust, and with the wonderful support already shown from local businesses, and tickets for the event flying out the door – some serious cash is hoped to be raised.
Show Organizer Stuart Kelly said, “ We have been overwhelmed by the support the City of York has shown us in helping us build the Apollo into one of the biggest and best festivals around. The list of music acts just keeps growing and with all profits going to such a great cause, it’s going to be a superb day out.”
