Øya Festival is delighted to announce exciting additions to the 2013 bill, including newly confirmed headliners The Knife who will join previously announced headliners Blur in Oslo this August. Having recently announced their long awaited return with their first LP in seven years, The Knife will be taking to the Øya stage on Saturday 10th August alongside metal legends Slayer, who will play their first outdoor show in Oslo.
Joining them will be outspoken singer/rapper Azealia Banks, the UK’s most in-demand producers of the moment Disclosure and blues rock four-piece Alabama Shakes, who were one of 2012’s stand-out breakthrough acts.
Raised on a diet of underground metal, sludgy doom rock and psychedelia, Electric Wizard is also confirmed for 2013 alongside Detroit rapper Danny Brown, newly reinvented R&B/indie icon Solange and hotly tipped US bands Metz and Skaters who have the music industry all astir following sell-out shows at SXSW.
Previously confirmed 2013 acts include Haim, Of Monsters and Men, Angel Haze and Goat.
