Farm Feast – a family festival of food and drink, music and farming fun - takes over Wirral’s Claremont Farm this May Bank Holiday (Sunday 25 & Monday 26) and young visitors are to be treated to a huge range of activities, workshops and games in their own dedicated Little Feasters area and also throughout the festival.

The Little Feasters zone will play host to Cooking Workshops where budding young cooks with be able to enjoy hands on experience of making fun recipes with real professional chefs!

Little people with big imaginations will love the Story Emporium which will see two geo-domes hosted by renowned storyteller Ian Douglas offering exciting food-related tales and arty activities - such as root vegetable puppet making - throughout the festival.

Ray Mears and Bear Grylls wannabes will have a chance to try their hand at Bushcraft with Wilderlore Bushcraft. Over the weekend, youngsters will be able to get back to nature and become survival experts with interactive activities such as building a fire, backwoods cookery, camouflage and concealment, wilderness first aid and wood carving.

Family-run Wirral-based falconry display team Talonted Feathers will also be on hand to wow young visitors with displays their 5 owls and a hawk! There will also be a chance to meet and be photographed with the birds.

A host of further Little Feasters activities centred around cooking, music and film are to be announced soon.

Around the main Farm Feast site there will be lots more on offer to keep kids busy and entertained, including The Sheep Show which has long been a favourite feature of Farm Feast’s earlier incarnation, Wirral Food and Drink Festival. Each 30 minute show presents various breeds of sheep, tells their stories and describes how their wool becomes the jumpers we wear every day. Expect to learn a lot from the show that includes dancing sheep in the ‘Sheep Show Hustle’ and a very educational sheep shearing demonstration.

Children will also have a chance to get close to live animals such as pigs, sheep and horses in the Food and Farming area.

And youngsters won’t have too hard a time persuading their elders to get tickets either, as all under 18s go FREE when accompanied by paying adults, who will have a host of more grown up activities to tempt them (see Editors’ Notes for a full run down of the festival areas and activities).

Farm Feast is a held in the lush green fields of Claremont Farm. The Farm is located in beautiful countryside in the heart of the Wirral and famous for its asparagus, strawberries and potatoes. This idyllic setting is the perfect backdrop for this exciting event.
