Westlife, one of the UK's biggest ever selling groups of all time, has been confirmed as the headlining artist who will bring the 2011 Manx Telecom Bay Festival to a very fitting close on Sunday 19 June performing their 'wall to wall' non-stop no. 1 hits for the first time ever on the IOM.

With no fewer than 14 number one singlesbehind them, only Elvis and The Beatles have had more. They hold the record to this day for the most consecutive number one singles in the UK and are the UK's biggest selling band, beating Coldplay, over the past ten years with a very impressive 7 No. 1 albums.

Managed by Louis Walsh, Westlife is comprised of Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan and their huge popularity has never waned since their formation in 1998. The boys regularly tour the UK's largest arenas and guest on countless television shows. They were classed the fourth most hard-working music artist in the UK last year. Hit songs including 'Flying Without Wings', 'Fool Again', 'My Love', 'What Makes A Man', 'Uptown Girl' and 'World Of Our Own' are among the many familiar favourites that have kept the band at the top for so long - a real feat in this disposable pop age.

The Manx Telecom Bay Festival has teamed up with the Isle of Man Postal Authority to bring you Westlife. Promoter Jamie Irving said, "we are extremely pleased that the IOM Postal Authority has come together with us to deliver you Westlife!"

"Their appearance at the 2011 Manx Telecom Bay Festival will be their first time ever on the Isle of Man, and Jamie believes this is the perfect band to conclude this year's Festival, already looking to be the best yet with UK Dance sensations Tinie Tempah and Tinchy Stryder confirmed last week." Jamie continued: "Westlife are simply one of the most consistently popular artists of the last decade and it's thrilling to secure them for this year's Manx Telecom Bay Festival. Their catalogue of hits is just breath-taking and fans can look forward to one number one hit straight after another. It guarantees a totally memorable night."

Jamie said: "To make the night more intimate the total number of tickets on sale has been reduced to 4,500. There were 8,500 for Elton John and they all sold out in 46 minutes so our advice is donÂ’t hang around."

Supporting Westlife on Sunday will be British dance act Example, and Europop legends Cascada who have notched up 35 million singles sales and 15 million album sales respectively.

Acts already confirmed for the Friday and Sunday of the Festival include Peter Andre, Stacey Solomon, Lord of the Dance, Example and Cascada, BritainÂ’s Got Talent meets X-Factor, with top comedians performing including Alan Carr and Dara OÂ’Briain. Jamie went on to say: "Next week we will be announcing the line up for the Circus Tent which is extremely exciting and will not disappoint the fans who want to see original artists from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s!"
