The Underage Festival is strictly for 13-17 year olds so we recruited Hayley aged 14 to review it for us, it was also her first Festival.

Arriving at the “The Underage Festival” we could see the crowds of people gathering at the gates of Victoria Park.  We could tell this was going to be a great day! This event was strictly for aged 13 to 17 and no adults were allowed, with the exception of the security.

Once we were inside we saw the place was filled with Music tents, rides and stalls; we didn’t know where to begin. There were rides such as carousel, swing chairs and waltzer which were very popular and added to the entertainment. We decided to go on the waltzer it was great fun but made us very dizzy.

Nearby we heard screaming from a tent called the CM Sounds Stage and there were so many acts that I enjoyed like Ms Dynamite and Labrinth. The weather started to heat up and there were now lots of tents filled with people. After the exciting morning we decided to have something to eat there was a great selection of food including a stall selling fruit and watermelon but we headed for Pizza Express. Other stalls we visited were Claries Accessories, Coca Cola, Ice Cream, Sweet stalls and Red Bull. There was also some freebies being given out and something promoting the Olympic games.

We were already aware of who was playing on each stage as we had the Underage Festival app on our phone. We then went to the Last FM tent to see Maverick Sabre, he came on stage to an excited crowd before opening with “Let Me Go”, and the audience jumped up and down throughout his set. The atmosphere was so good and everyone was hyped for the evening ahead.

If I had to choose one act out of my day on the line up I would say Maverick Sabre he was absolutely amazing.

Everything was so well organised and ideal for a first taste of live music. I defiantly want to go next year as it was a fantastic day and gave people my age the chance to go to a festival.

We asked Hayley a few questions after she had got over The Underage Festival

How does going to a festival differ to watching one on the television?

It’s completely different, it’s so exciting and loud and everyone is singing and dancing. When you watch it on the TV it does not make you feel the same as when your there.

Would you go to another festival in the future and which one would you want to go to.

I would definitely want to go to another one but I don’t know which one to choose it would depend on the line up.  At The Underage Festival I got to see all the people I really wanted to see, I also always managed to get near the front.
