Competitions will begin on Wednesday 7th August 2014 and continue through the week until all categories are complete, including:

Men’s Open - international pros get into the thick of the action, taming the epic waves at Fistral. With the right conditions, the Men's Open competition rivals the best in the world.

Women’s Open - the ladies of the waves battle it out, charging Fistral's finest with their own instalment of power surfing. As with the Men's Open, the Women's competition can be World beating.

Men’s Longboard Pro - buttery smooth style and laid-back nose-riding from the finest longboarders around the world; always a favourite at Boardmasters.

Pro Junior (Under 20’s) - the teens stake an early claim to Boardmasters history. Keep a keen eye; the Pro Junior is a goldmine of "ones to watch".

Under 16’s Mixed - groms from miles around show us just how far the sport has come. Some of them are knee high to a grass-hopper, but they still rip!

Air Show - the aerialists get their fins clean out in the open for a classic "best trick" showdown.

The UKs biggest surf event just got bigger! The overall prize purse is now £22,000, drawing the best international surfers from around the globe to compete for the spoils and the title of Boardmasters Champion.

There's not been a British winner since Russell Winter in 2002, so the best of the homegrown surfers are going to be pushing hard to take the title from current champ New Zealander Billy Stairmand.

Whatever the weather (light offshore wind if the gods are good!) it’s bound to be another week of dramatic competition and looking at the talent in the Pro Junior and Grom Masters competitions last year we’ve got years of the same to come!

Boardmasters 2014 takes place at Newquay Watergate Bay, Trebelsue Farm, Newquay, Cornwall between Wed 6th to Sun 10th August 2014.
