Roy Thain, festival organiser said: “We are making sure that the bill is varied and interesting so that it suits a wide range of music fans.  We are really excited about these acts because they will bring something fresh and new to the festival.  Every year the challenge is to try and top the year before and we are convinced that these bands show that we can secure great acts year in and year out.”Wizard festival attracted more than 5,000 fans last year when acts such as James and the Happy Mondays appeared.  Held on a huge site with a natural amphitheatre and surrounded by some of Scotland’s best scenery, Wizard is less than 30 miles from Aberdeen city centre.   The festival has three stages, a two day children’s programme and camping and car parking facilities.  The site also has a campervan and caravan arena.

Keen to build on its family friendly atmosphere Wizard also has a separate family camping area and children aged 12 and under attend the festival for free.  Roy continued: “We pride ourselves on the fact that Wizard is accessible to everyone, young and old and everyone else in between.  This year we are putting extra effort into the children’s and young people’s programme because we want to make sure that families have plenty to do over the weekend of the event.

Held over the bank holiday weekend in August, the dates for this year’s event are Friday August 26 and Saturday August 27.
