• Registration is still open for the One World conference being organised by the UK Disabled People's Council to celebrate International Day of Disabled People on 3 December. This takes place from 11am-5pm at St John's Church in Stratford, and includes the UK Premiere of SignDance Collective International's The Other Side of the Coin at 4.15pm in the main church.   • There are still places left on the following free Arts Workshops this week; Winter Crafts with the Hub Crafters (Friday 30 November 11.30am-3.30pm at the Hub); and Open Poetry with Cooltan Arts (Saturday 1 December 2-5pm at the Garden Cafe).   • The Pop Up Poetry Cafe takes place this Saturday 1 December from 6.30pm at the Garden Cafe, 7 Cundy Road, E16 3DJ on Saturday 1 December for what we hope will be the first of many Pop-Up Poetry Cafes run by the participants. Click here for full details of all our venues and how to get to them. 
  • Newham Leisure Centres are running Sports Taster Sessions on Saturday 1 December from 2-5.30pm to Celebrate International Day of Disabled People at Newham Leisure Centre, with Soft Play (2-3pm) and Move to Music (3.15-4pm) sessions for under-19s, plus Open Swimming (4.30-5.30pm). The afternoon also offers an opportunity to find out more about the activities for disabled people which take place weekly at Newham’s leisure centres, most of which are free. 
  • Our exhibition of work by 45 locally based disabled artists continues at the Hub, 123 Star Lane, London E16 4PZ. We had a great review of the exhibition and last Wednesday's relaunch event from Disability Arts Online - click here to read it. 
  • The Blind Beggar of Bethnal Green sung by Liz Porter has been added to the Performances section of our website. Liz performed this during her Storytelling workshop on 28 November at Durning Hall, as part of an extract from her forthcoming one-woman show, Learning to See. We hope to programme Learning to See for next year’s Together! festival, and in the meantime we thought you’d enjoy hearing this too!
