TINCHY STRYDER rose to popularity with the song "Take Me Back" which peaked at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. He then released the song "Number 1", (a collaboration with N-Dubz) which entered the UK chart at number 1. He then later released "Never Leave You" with Amelle Berrabah from girl-group Sugababes which became his second number 1. He also currently has a single out 'Bright Lights' with Pixie Lott which has been riding high in the top ten.

BUZZCOCKS  are an iconic punk rock band form Bolton. They achieved commercial success with singles that fused pop craftsmanship with rapid-fire punk energy. The widely covered "Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)" remains one of their best-known songs, along with "Harmony in my Head"

In 2005, Welwyn Garden City three-piece, THE SUBWAYS crashed onto the UK rock scene with their, now cult, debut album ‘Young For Eternity’ and international party mix tape classic ‘Rock & Roll Queen’. Five consecutive years at Reading & Leeds festival along with appearances at Glastonbury and T in the Park quickly cemented their reputation as festival favourites.

The legendary Dr and The Medics rose to fame in the 1980's and are best known for their No. 1 hit 'Spirit in the Sky' . Dr and The Medics will be performing an upbeat and flamboyant set including well loved classic covers such as Timewarp, Kids in America, I'm a Believer, Proud Mary, She Sells Sanctuary and not forgetting 'Spirit in the Sky'.

Clint Stamper, Chairman of CockRock said 'We are delighted to be able to announce these big name artists for the festival, the 2012 line up has a diverse mix of local, young and independent bands as well as more mainstream acts such as Tinchy Stryder. 'Not only are we dedicating a lot of time to securing  our line up but we've also invested a lot into improving attractions across the whole site. We hope that this combined with our low ticket prices ensures an affordable but equally fantastic festival for all members of the family, and there's still even more bands to be announced!'.

More acts have been announced on the festival's website www.cockermouthrockfestival.com however even more acts are still to be announced for the main stages as well as line up's for Tent 42, Jambeater Reggae Tent, The Session Stage and The Dance Tent.
