With this years Live at Leeds almost upon us today sees the announcement of this years schedule for the highly anticipated event.

Mixing national touring bands with emerging talent has always been the intention and this year is no different, bringing over a 120 bands to the city of Leeds over 12 stages. Headliners include the darlings of Radio 1, Peace and everybody’s favourites AlunaGeorge, Laura Mvula and Everything Everything. You can see why over 7,000 people will be dashing around Leeds City Centre on Saturday 4th May.

The festival are releasing an app for the very first time. Designed to provide ease of access to the programme, it features the ability to save and share your own personalised festival schedule. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices and was created by festival partners Enjoy Digital following seed funding from Leeds and Partners. For those who like to have a printed schedule, the Live At Leeds guide is now available at all the festival venues.

The festival is working hard to extend the event further than before. Festival activity is expanding to the streets and shops of Leeds through associated street entertainment, street food and in-store performances at Pretty Green, Dr. Martens, Made In Leeds and Trinity Leeds. The #LALTakeover’s has been set up to catch the latest information on these events.

Richard, one of the Directors of Live at Leeds has said “We are excited to expand the festival this year both digitally and physically through the introduction of our first ever app and by co-ordinating activity outside of our traditional venues. The additional activity has been supported through the city’s desire to work alongside us and we look forward to seeing the outcomes of our new partnerships.”

The festival have also announced that on Record Store Day (Saturday 20th April) the first 125 purchasers at local record stores, Jumbo and Crash Records will receive a free Live At Leeds tote bag. Two of the exclusive tote bags will contain a Golden Ticket, which provides entry to all club nights and gigs at The Cockpit in the months of May, June and July.
