LIVE in Barnsley organisers have announced 8 more bands that have been confirmed to take part. They are;

The Kingcrows, from Leeds have been gigging since the end of 2006.  They told us they were formed out of a need to play fun, noisy, chaotic punky rock 'n' roll with no intent towards a serious career, just for the sheer hell of it.”  The Kingcrows' agenda seems to be to make a racket, have a laugh and hopefully entertain a few people. We're loud, brash and highly visual. They've released four EPs and a compilation album, played the Nice N Sleazy Punk festival four times (with a fifth appearance booked for 2014) and supported the likes of Spear Of Destiny, the UK Subs, Anti Nowhere League, the Rezillos, Rat Scabies & Brian James (ex Damned), TV Smith (ex Adverts), the Business, 999, Vice Squad, GBH and the Vibrators.

Vendettas are a 3 piece 60's inspired garage rock 'N' roll band from Leeds, whose EP 'Remember That Kid' is out now.  They started out in April 2013 and have already played some great gigs at Proud Camden, the legendary Dublin Castle in Camden. They recently sold out The Cockpit II in Leeds for their EP launch and supported Scottish band, The View, on the last leg of their European tour.

The Black Lamps are a product of their diverse experiences and influences. Though they have a shared love for a number of artists such as The Cure, Bowie, Pixies, Ramones, the Bad Seeds they each have their own musical interests.  These influences may not be immediately obvious when listening to the Lamps. But somewhere within the mix, they’re there.  Similarly, their experiences bring different perspectives to the group. Liam runs a local T-Shirt company, Lyndon works in IT, Greg designs machines that work at the extremes of nature and Dean is a successful and celebrated graphic artist working for DC Comics and is part of the select band of artists who drew Judge Dredd for 2000AD magazine.  The band told us that “Sometimes there is conflict but mostly there is harmony. Sometimes laziness and apathy and then again periods of great productivity and creativity.  One thing is certain, there is absolutely no desire to ‘make it’, to succeed, to be famous. Those days are long gone. All that remains is a compulsion to keep making a beautiful noise, collectively."

"Hitomi's sound is an irresistible sugar bomb of rowdy pop punk. - Simon Young, Kerrang! Magazine.  Hitomi, from Barnsley, formed in 2007 recording their debut EP, ‘Save Face’, with producer Tim Speight. Following the success of that they recorded their second EP, ‘Unravel Me’, with PlayWork Productions in Philadelphia, USA. The EP met with huge critical acclaim and saw Hitomi being named one of the top three unsigned bands in the UK in Kerrang! Magazines 2010 competition, Warriors of Rock.  In 2011 Hitomi beat over 10,000 competing bands to earn their place at the Live & Unsigned national final at the 02 in London. Hitomi won the Media Exposure award and were presented with the prize at the national final in London in July 2011.  Several of their tracks have been aired on BBC radio and used on national, prime time TV shows such as Hollyoaks. Hitomi's third EP ‘Home’ was released in May 2013, again to critical acclaim and has had numerous plays on BBC radio since the EP release. A full UK tour and a music video to accompany first single ‘Go!’ followed shortly after in June. Hitomi appeared at numerous music festivals including Live in Barnsley & Tramlines Sheffield in the summer of 2013. A new music video is scheduled for early 2014 and a brand new EP in the making ready for release in the summer.

Barnsley based band, Aztec Doll, formed in May 2012 and have been writing their own material from day one. Drawing upon influences such as; The Cure, PJ Harvey, Siouxsie & the Banshees and many others, the band have managed to create a dark yet inviting sound. The band gigged regularly in 2013 and earned support slots with bands such as; Nine Black Alps, Wussy and OK Social Club. The Dolls released their debut 3-track EP in the summer to much critical acclaim and were one of the highlights of last year’s festival.

One night in Sheffield in 2013, The Recordists were born. They told us they were “Born out of anger that no-one is making music they want to hear. Born out of frustration at the lack of modern rock stars. Born from having nothing in their pockets but lofty ambition. So, Mark Fletcher, Chris Jones, Joel Hughes and Dan Harris decided to do something about it, and set about scheming a plan to achieve either world domination or total destruction. People have formed opinions quickly. Mudhoney meets The Stooges. Mark E. Smith fronting Sonic Youth. The Sex Pistols possessing The Pixies. And so, the songs have been penned. The gigs have been cemented. Now, history is waiting to be written. Always of the belief that you should be absolutely amazing or bloody awful, either way”.  They are ready for the ride, and they invite you to join them.

James Coley is a young guitarist from Leeds who performs acoustic covers in his own inimitable style by popular bands such as Coldplay, The Doors, Foo Fighters, The Beatles and many others.

They recently released their debut album, '8493' which is available on iTunes.
