Lodestar revealed two more artists for this years festival The Joy Formidable and Thumpers.

Welsh trio The Joy Formidable have been described “somewhere between The Breeders and a jet engine”, or if you prefer pop hooks sailing on a sea of noise. They certainly have a reputation of being one of the most exciting live bands around, which is probably why acts like Muse and Dave Grohl keep offering them support slots. Their second album ‘Wolf’s Law’ was released by Atlantic in Jan 2013 and the band will be playing a series of dates throughout the year to promote it, including a special appearance at LodeStar.

New London-based duo Thumpers are already a 6 Music favourite and will appeal to all the Arcade Fire fans out there; their music mixes layers of sublime vocals with eye-widening synth and faintly bluesy guitar volleys and their single ‘Dancing’s Done’ (out now on Transgressive imprint Paradyse) is the perfect example of a repertoire that contains genuinely affecting, infectious dream-pop with tribal beats and honeyed effects.

LodeStar is seen as one of the most relaxed and chilled boutique festivals in the UK and has been universally praised for its affordable prices and for the quality of the acts involved.
