Bristol Folk Festival have added another wave of acts to the line-up including: The Full English – Winners of the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for Best Group and Album of the Year, The Full English are the UK’s premier folk supergroup. This legendary outfit comprises our patron Seth Lakeman, Sam Sweeney, Fay Hield, Martin Simpson, Nancy Kerr, Ben Nicolls, and Rob Habron.
Also added are Home Service, Steve Tilston, The Gasworks Choir, Greg Russell & Ciaran Algar, Mawkin, Lady Maisery, Heg & The Wolf Chorus & The Barnacle Buoys.
Isambard Folk Award 2015 Winner – As is tradition, the winner of this already renowned award will be offered the support slot for the Sunday evening concert in St.George’s. Look out for the opening of the competition.
Morris Dancers – Bristol & Rag Morris lead the way joined by some of the greatest and most popular sides in the South West for performances and workshops – sometimes planned, sometimes impromptu.
Many more performers, plus workshops, sing-alongs, and poetry are to be added to this list in coming months, so keep your eyes peeled.
In addition to the two main stages at St George’s and The Folk House, the Kidnap and Doric Stages provide a platform for newcomers, open mics, and sessions.
Impromptu ceilidhs, workshops, stalls, talks, and plenty of sumptuous regional food and drink will also feature as part of a rich and diverse selection of things to watch, listen to and get involved in.
