The Beat-Herder returns! That marvellously cool, casually arty, celebration of all things good, and truly wonderful creative bash that is Beat-Herder explodes into life in them there Lancashire hills on Friday 18th July.

Both the 2012 and 2013 events were stated by our seasoned Festivals For All reviewers as two of the best festivals they have ever had the pleasure to attend (Read their reviews of Beat-Herder 2012 and Beat-Herder 2013)… it’s no wonder the 2014 festival is a sell-out.

Our guys struggled for superlatives to describe the awesome vibe this event creates and benchmarked The Beat-Herder Festival as the marker that other similar events should judge themselves by … and by any criteria you care to choose; atmosphere, value for money, calibre of artists and facilities, range of musical and non-music scenes – the list goes on and on. It really is that good!

“If you think ‘festivals’ are all about big bands in a field – you’ve been going to the wrong festivals. Beat-Herder will change your horizons. Ten out of Ten.”

Festivals For All spoke recently with Nick Chambers, one of festival organisers, who gave an insight into the festival ethos and what they try to achieve year on year. (Read the Nick Chambers 2014 interview.)

The festival has strong roots in the northern underground music party scene and it shows, but don’t be fooled by labels; Beat-Herder excels across all musical genres … it’s a cliché but there is genuinely something for everyone.

There are a dozen stages, hundreds of artists and loads of wonderful flash happenings exploding all over the show. Beat-Herder provides the platform for you to race away or chill … it’s all your call.

This year’s bash features the likes of 2manydjs, Happy Mondays, The Bloody Beetroots, The Orb, Boney M., Klangkarussell Live, Vitalic Live, Dub Pistols, Chainska Brassica, Gypsy Hill, Ibibio Sound Machine, Mr Scruff and Utah Saints … and a late surprise addition of classic popsters ABC.

It’s going to be one hell of a party … herd ‘em up indeed.
