Tickets for adults (without camping) from £30.00 |
The post-Christmas hangover seems to be dissipating as winter draws it's final breath, inching us ever closer to the relief of Spring sunshine. Thankfully this too means that festival season is imminent, and I can resume my debaucherous adventures throughout various fields nationwide. I've a bit of time to kill before then however, and luckily Takedown Festival 2014 is here to keep me occupied.
Taking over Southampton University's Student Union Takedown is a one day event featuring more than thirty bands spread four across four stages. The bigger names on the line up come from Funeral for a Friend and Rise to Remain, but there's quite an eclectic mash of artists with the likes of ex-Reuben frontman Jamie Lenman, the awesomely heavy Heart of a Coward and a riff-tastic Turbowolf. A welcome addition of the Southampton Music Magazine stage will also play host to a slew of the city's best up and coming local talent.
A days worth of music will set you back £30, or for an extra four quid (or £6 separately) you can gains access to the Uprawr Aftershow party which features a variety of DJ's including Mel Clarke and runs from 10:30pm until 03:00am. Grab your tickets to celebrate the arrival of this year's festival season accordingly.
