London’s intimate festival Summer Series at Somerset House with American Express returns this year with an impressive line-up of support acts to complement the A-list headliners.

On 12th July, the courtyard at Somerset House is set to transform into a reggae summer paradise. For a special night of Jamaican-roots music and food, Summer Series will be showcasing artists spearheading the reggae resurgence around the world. Dre Island, lauded as one of the most exciting and intelligent young musicians to emerge from the Kingston scene, will take to the stage to support new reggae royalty Chronixx, while Jamaican food vendors fill the courtyard with the aromas of sizzling jerk chicken.

Urban soul singer Kwabs will also be in good company come 17th July with Zak Abel and Raleigh Ritchie providing the perfect introduction to the evening. Signed by the age of 17, 20-year-old Zak Abel’s strong, soulful vocals have seen him collaborate with Gorgon City, Bondax and Joker, establishing the young artist as one of Britain’s most exciting up-and-coming acts. Following Abel will be the unmistakable Raleigh Ritchie, whose successes already include a collaboration with Plan B, three EPs and a top 40 single. His defiantly urban and raw storytelling tracks will make his upcoming summer album a highlight of the season.

Please note – the bar sits alongside the courtyard but does not offer a clear view of the main stage, it is open throughout the concert and drinks can be taken into the courtyard space.
