Standon Calling has today revealed more acts to join the line up for this years event including Dutch Uncles, Josephine & Craig Charles’ Funk & Soul Show.
A ticket to this year's festival also allows festival-goers to become stars of the show via Standon People’s Circus. Legendary Ringmaster Gerald Barclay-Balding has pulled out all the stops to bring together an experienced and talented team of circus performers to teach the ways of The Big Top.
Mancunian outfit Dutch Uncles should find a warm welcome in the colourful surroundings of Standon Calling. Three albums into their career the band firmly wave the flag for leftfield, guitar-driven pop sure to go down a storm. Josephine, also hailing from Manchester, brings with her West Indian and Jamaican heritage, as smoothly woven into her soul sound. Next up is a familiar name to the airwaves and indeed TV screens; Craig Charles’ Funk and Soul show lands at Standon Calling 2013 for all the crowd’s grooving needs. Andy Proudfoot of Dutch Uncles comments:
"We're very excited about being added to this year's Standon Calling, not least because of the great line-up but also fact that we've just leant it has a swimming pool! Our band rider always includes a request to the nearest pool. We've packed our Speedos... keep your eyes and ears out for a lot of art-pop and white flesh."
Also added to the line up are Treetop Flyers, Autoheart, Smooth and Turrell Soundsystem, Carnival of Souls, Silvermoths and Silver Darter. Likened to The Strokes and The Maccabees, Maddox will be taking to the Standon Calling stage as the second of the local acts signed up to appear at the festival.
