Celtic superstars abound with the wonderful Gaelic beats of Capercaillie, fronted by the beautiful voice of Karen Matheson, the high-energy, ultimate piping party band Peatbog Faeries, the thrilling free-thinking visonaries Lau (seen recently on Later with Jools Holland) and the breath-taking flute-based flights of Flook in a rare concert appearance.
 
Some mighty sounds from overseas including the incomparable Australian The Spooky Men’s Chorale, the raw energy and talent of Le Vent du Nord from Quebec and the joyful Jaipur Kawa Brass Band with their vibrant celebratory sounds from Rajasthan. 

England’s finest are represented by the first lady of folk-rock Maddy Prior, the iconic Nic Jones Trio and new sounds from the massed ranks of fiddles and song from Carthy, Hardy, Farrell & Young.

Sidmouth FolkWeek is famous for filling the streets with colourful dance displays and processions, but this year the BRAND NEW Children’s Festival will transform the Blackmore Gardens into the epicentre of family fun!

Under the watchful eyes of new producers Ray and Bev Langton, well known for their work in producing, directing and performing for children and families at many UK festivals, the action-packed entertainment programme promises a diverse array of performances and surprises including: The Da Silva Marionette Circus Troupe, The Jellyvision Show and Spooky Men’s Chorale Family Concert (unaccompanied grown ups not allowed!)… and much more.
