Sensoria have announced some of their guests, speakers and events for the biggest and best Sensoria to date, which takes place 29th April - 8th May 2011 at venues around Sheffield. Bill Drummond is Sensoria's first composer in residence, based at Sheffield Forgemasters. He will compose a new score each day and will also give a lecture and performance as part of the festival programme.

Sensoria 2011 opens on 29th April (Royal Wedding Day), and wil have its own special take on the classic Street Party? It will be presenting a day of alfresco activities, including buskers and children's entertainers.

Other highlights include a live 30th anniversary concert and album launch in the beautiful surroundings of the 1930s City Hall Ballroom from Sheffield band In The Nursery with special guests Sieben, David Thomas Broughton, Neil McSweeney and Job Karma. Tickets are only £8.50 (£7.50 concessions).

Feargal Sharkey, musician and CEO of UK Music will take centre stage at this year's SensoriaPro industry event. SensoriaPro is a gathering of professionals from the music, film and digital industries to explore and discuss the latest developments in music and the moving image through talks, events, panel sessions and informal networking opportunities. It is a must-attend event on the national and international calendar, and this year has been extended to 2 days, 5th and 6th May. Other special guests will include Mary Anne Hobbs, Guardian music writer Dave Simpson and Martyn Ware (Heaven 17, Future of Sound), who will also present his installation Diaspora Magnet (part of Echo City project presented at the Venice Biennale) throughout the festival.
