Apollo Festival has announced this year’s main stage headliner as Sheffield rockers Reverend and The Makers! Having already sold out dates on their tour so far this year it is big news that they will help Apollo Festival close the show in style. Also joining them on this year’s main stage line up is singer/songwriter and the former Bluetones front man Mark Morriss, & Ex Seahorses front man Chris Helme, and York’s popular party band The Supermodels as well as Live and Unsigned competition finalists Redstar, Also added Black Delta Movement & returning for a second year We Could Be Astronauts and hugely talented singer/songwriter Beth McCarthy who is currently competing on this year’s BBC One talent show The Voice UK.
On the Access To Music acoustic stage confirmed acts include Tom Hingley (Former Inspiral Crapets glory days front man) part of what has become a part of the very famous Manchester music scene that we know today. Joining him is Americana folk singer Boss Caine who has gained many fans over the past few years including the likes of Radio 2's Bob Harris along with the likes of Pelico, Vesper Walk, Issie Dalby and a selection of talented musicians from the Access To Music College.
Apollo Festival is returning to York for its second year, with The Smiley Riley Fund beeing this years charity. The Festival will be bigger and better with none other than FOUR stages to wet your appetite in the city's best family festival at York Sports Club on Shipton Road on Saturday 21st June.
This year sees a new addition to the Apollo Festival line up with The Entertainment Company presents stage. A band that bring the party to you with their repertoire of covers that has something for everyone from Wilson Picket to The Wombats, indie anthems to soul and jazz crooning, they have the lot. Along with them performing on their stage they will have an array of acts including West Midland band Target By Numbers Rockers, The Fallen and Van de Neer.
Also back by popular demand is the Apollo Dance Temple powered by True Colour Sanctury, For its first year they announce Kerrang's very own Kate Lawler and Radio 1's 'In New DJs We Trust' winner Mistress De Funk!
Apollo Festival will have something for everyone and anyone. Whether you're here for the music or not we believe Apollo will have it, from local food stalls as well as drink tents for the beer and cider connoisseurs amongst you! 1331 providing this year’s cocktails, Along sides this we have a FULL fun fair and a whole day of children's activities with open Air theatres free Kids zone Of course we couldn't forget our annual hay bale fight…….
