The Klaxons will headline The Relentless Boardmasters Festival on Friday 12th August, Newquay, Cornwall, with Fat Boy Slim having the honour on Saturday 13th

The Klaxons are confirmed to headline Friday 12th August on the main stage of The Relentless Energy Drink Boardmasters in Association with Vans, with Bombay Bicycle Club supporting, to celebrate 30 years of the surf and music festival.

Since bursting onto the UK music scene, the Mercury Prize winning Klaxons have been blazing a trail around the world with their punchy, anthemic tunes.

The indie-rock quartet is heading up a distinctly British main stage, with north-London rock band and NME ‘Best new band’ winners  Bombay Bicycle Club, UK pop stunner Eliza Doolittle, the soul sensation Liam Bailey and acoustic phenomenon Benjamin Fracis Leftwich already confirmed.

A new addition to the Vans Off the Wall Stage will be the roaring, political punk rock outfit The King Blues who will be bringing their energetic live show to the Vans stage along with more acts to be confirmed soon.

With dance music pioneer Fatboy Slim already taking the helm of the Saturday main stage and Sub Focus Live, Zane Lowe and Scratch Perverts also confirmed, the UK's premier surf, skate and music festival is set to have the line-up of the summer.

Artist info:Hailing from the indie-rock scene of London, the Klaxons have been commanding dance floors all over the world since their first Mercury prize-winning album Myths of the Near Future.  With accolades ranging from Best New Band, Best Album, Best Track and Best Song, the four young musicians have toured the world following up the success of their album. The London-based quartet with original members James Reynolds (bass, vocals) James Righton (keyboard, vocals) Simon Taylor-Davie (guitars) and Steffan Halperin (drums) returned to the musical stage with their second album in 2010 Surfing the Void, described by the Telegraph as: ‘terrific, full of exuberant melodies, but with a sharper, more grown-up sound,’ and NME ‘as one of the best pop albums of the year.’ Their triumphant melodies and vigorous progressive-pop sounds will be the energetic highlight of the cliff-top stage.

The indie-pop act Bombay Bicycle Club originally from Crouch End, London have changed pace since their instantly addictive first album I had the Blues but I shook them loose. With spiky riffs, jerky melodies and lead singer jack Steadman’s unique vocals, the band jumped into critical and public acclaim back in 2009. Having toured the country playing at festivals and taking to the stage at the NME awards, the foursome immediately got to work on their second album Flaws, dispensing with almost all electrics and producing a largely acoustic, melodic album, proving their creative scope and limitless potential.

The King Blues are a Hackney-based band whose ska and punk influenced songs have secured them a loyal following with politically-minded folks.  Their big catchy choruses, folk and even pop inspired songs have captured imaginations with classics like “I got Love” and “Lets hang the Landlord.” With three albums already giving them huge success, with national tours and a fourth on the way, this band is sure to rock the socks off the Vans stage this year.
