Redfest yesterday posted a statement on their Facebbok page stating they are taking a year out and will return bigger, bolder and louder in 2016.

Statement from Festival Organisor Matt Nichols

What a fantastic 8 years we have had, we have danced, partied and enjoyed some of the finest up and coming talent the UK has had to offer. It has been such a privilege to be involved in showcasing such amazing artists and to so many of our wonderful Redfesters. I never dreamed we would host acts that are now such established names with Laura Marling, Newton Faulkner, Ed Sheeran and Bastille just a few of our picks who have made it big.

And then there’s all the magic that happens off the stage, it’s no easy feat to put together and it would never have been possible without the incredible support from our ever growing festival family with the amazing backstage team, volunteers and of course our loyal clan who return year on year to enjoy it all, it’s been an honour.

This year is a big year for me and my family as I look forward to 2 of my children getting married, that's 2 down, 2 to go! So it’s with a heavy heart I have had to put my love of Redfest on hold to make sure I can support Joe & Agata and Emily & Karl and enjoy the beginning of their new lives.

All I can say is bring on REDFEST 2016, it’s going to be a quiet year without you but I’m looking forward to coming back bigger, bolder and louder than ever before, keep skanking, rocking and moshing in true REDFEST style and see you all in 2016 ….

Thank you all for the journey, it’s a pause it’s not goodbye…
