Ramsbottom Festival has announced that they have been named Small Tourism Event of the Year at the Manchester Tourism Awards 2013. 

Cllr Jane Lewis, Bury Council cabinet member for leisure, tourism and culture, accepted the award on behalf of the festival team at the ceremony which took place at The Lowry on Wednesday 6 November. 

The Manchester Tourism Awards recognise high levels of investment in quality and contributions to tourism, showcasing the best the Manchester area has to offer. 

Festival Director David Agnew comments:

“Its fantastic to have this recognition for our festival. We have worked hard to bring a high quality music festival to Greater Manchester and would like to highlight the support of partners, sponsors and audiences in developing this exciting event.” 

Organised by The Met in partnership with The Bridgewater Hall, Ramsbottom Festival welcomed 6,500 visitors to Ramsbottom Cricket Club across the weekend of Friday 13 - Sunday 15 September 2013, with headline acts Sinéad O’Connor, Richard Hawley and I Am Kloot performing across the three evenings.
