Primal Scream boosted The Wombles' rock credibility ahead of their upcoming appearance at the Glastonbury Festival by visiting the novelty kids' act in the studio.

The 1970s group, based on the animated BBC kids' TV show of the same name, has been booked to play a set at Glastonbury next week - prompting complaints from both critics and music fans.

But Primal Scream can't wait to share the bill with the Wombles and the two groups recently met up in a London studio, where they chatted and posed for pictures together.

A source tells The Sun, "(Primal Scream) came into the studio and The Wombles performed Remember You're A Womble for them. The Scream boys loved every minute - (frontman) Bobby (Gillespie) even filmed it.

"They said they were gutted (disappointed) they won't see The Wombles at Glastonbury as Primal Scream are playing on Friday rather than the Sunday."
