TGE have announced that they are thrilled to announce that their lead international focus for The Great Escape 2013 is Poland. They are teaming up with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute who will present 'Don't Panic! We're From Poland', bringing the best and most dynamic new musical talent from Poland to the shores of Brighton.
Poland has had a strong presence at TGE since 2008, with artists such as Paula & Karol, Novika And The Lovefinders, Bueno Bros, Tres B, Rebeka, Indigo Trees and This Car Is On Fire performing to audiences of industry peers and festival goers alike.
As Europe's leading festival for new music, they pride themselves on enabling new artists and musicians from across the world to perform in front of such varied and influential audiences, with over 30 different countries represented in their 8 year history.
Their cross-continent partnerships have enabled the best new artists from every corner of the globe to cut their teeth in front of audiences of over 16,000 attendees from 25 different countries. Previous lead international partners include Catalonia and The Balearic Islands (2012), Ireland (2011), Australia (2010), New Zealand (2009), Norway (2008), France (2007) and Canada (2006), with international acts such as The Temper Trap, Madeon, Ladyhawke, Broken Social Scene, The Naked and Famous and James Vincent McMorrow being brought to the event.
