Programme highlights

To celebrate the centenary of one of Britain’s greatest composers, a spectacular promenade performance of Benjamin Britten‘s opera Noye’s Fludde incorportating hundreds of local schoolchildren.

Under the stars: thrilling romantic journeys into Dvorak’s New World Symphony, Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll and Strauss’ Four Last Songs & Don Quixote.

Alongside these orchestral showstoppers there will be a range of exciting one-off musical experiences from some of our hottest contemporary talents including members of Portishead and Goldfrapp.

Presenting an incredibly rare screening of the 1928 silent movie The Passion of Joan of Arc, with an epic new score performed live.

The British Paraorchestra – following their triumphant appearance with Coldplay at the Paralympic closing ceremony – will give the first public performance of their brand new album with special guests.

The Scrapheap Orchestra – stars of the BBC’s Proms and the world’s first orchestra made entirely out of recycled material – will make an explosive return.

The Talk Tent will host celebrity names from the TV and Film talking about how music relates to their world.

The Tea Tent will stage a diverse and captivating programme of local talent and young musicians.
