Nina Nesbitt, Man Can't Fly, and Macclesfield rock ‘n’ rollers The Virginmarys are the latest acts to be announced to play at this year’s Bingley Music Live.
They will appear at Myrtle Park between August 30th-September 1st alongside Primal Scream, The Cribs, The Human League, CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers, The Wonder Stuff, The Fratellis, Lucy Spraggan, Charlie Brown, Theme Park, The Lake Poets, The Temperance Movement, Loveable Rogues, Summer Camp, The Struts, The Electric Swing Circus, Natasha Haws, Rose and the Howling North, The Dunwells, The Dirty Rivers, KatMen, China Rats, Dave McPherson and Holy Moly and the Crackers. With an ever-expanding line up of quality acts, this year’s festival once again offers a truly eclectic mix of music; all at the purse-pleasing price of £45 (+ booking fee) for a three day ticket.
Nina Nesbitt’s pop-tastic songs, laden with boy-troubles and teenage angst, have seen her sighted as Glasgow’s answer to Taylor Swift. The 18-year-old is a precociously talented singer-songwriter and her career to date is a heady mix of luck (a chance encounter with Ed Sheeran led to her supporting him on tour), shrewd planning (nine months of rejecting record label offers until the right one came along), and a wilful determination to do things her own way. The end result is the stunning new Stay Out EP. We strongly advise taking a closer look at this extraordinary young lady.
We’re delighted to welcome four local lads to this year’s festival. Alternative, acoustic-rock outfit Man Can’t Fly have literally exploded onto the scene with the release of their debut track Don’t Waste my Time which was selected to feature on the BBC Radio 1 Playlist this month. Their strong Yorkshire following is being bolstered by this national exposure and Ben, James, Sam and Oliver will be playing in front of a home crowd at Bingley Music Live. Come and show your support and see why DJ Sara Cox calls them “Epic”.
For the past few years The Virginmarys have served their musical apprenticeship in time honoured fashion by covering thousands of miles on the road; touring with the likes of former BML performers Reverend And The Makers and Feeder. Having victoriously snatched an iTunes single of the week for Bang Bang Bang, the band have gone on to launch their debut album King of Conflict on DoubleCross Records. Taut, triumphant and tantalising – see why Kerrang says you should, “see this band before they begin selling out stadiums.” Bingley Music Live presents the perfect opportunity to do just this. See you down the mosh pit.
