29th - 30th Aug 2015 Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO1 3LJ, United Kingdom |
Tickets for adults (without camping) from £30.00 |
Victorious Festival have added a new stage at this year’s event. The Kid’s Stage will add to the multitude of kid’s activities you have come to expect from them and will feature a few very familiar faces that are sure to thrill our kids.
Throughout the weekend, Victorious will host stage shows from two of TV’s biggest names with Mr. Bloom and The Octonauts coming to the seaside. Plus Peppa Pig will be making appearances at intervals in the arena as well as The Princesses so don’t forget to bring your camera for the kids to have a momento of their favourites before you get a chance to see your favourites on the music stages.
Adding to the star quality will be a range of things to do and see that is our best line-up yet. The Canoe Lake Leisure Kid’s Arena will be hosting tennis matches where you can try your hand at beating the coach. There is a beach area so you can build a castle to rival the one that overlooks the site (and is free to enter for all ticket holders throughout the weekend) or you can kick back and watch Punch and Judy. There is also a circus skills area to allow you to learn the tricks of the trade, a craft area to get creative and your chance to build a Southsea dinosaur to scare the parents with the New Theatre Royal. Across the site will be bouncy castles, fairground rides, the Families Magazine colouring tent, face painting, a jungle bus and soft play.
Victorious began at Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard, the home of the Mary Rose, HMS Victory and the centre of England’s maritime history, so important to this island nation. It therefore seems very appropriate that the new site will once again welcome the Historic Dockyard Zone. Transporting a flavour of the Dockyard to the site, the area will feature a climbing wall run by Action Stations, the interactive family exhibit from the Dockyard that is open to all ages and a Mary Rose pop up museum, courtesy of the Mary Rose Museum, exhibiting treasures from the doomed warship alongside hobby horse jousting and long bow archery, giving you a flavour of the Tudor world. The National Museum of The Royal Navy will be onsite with massive outdoor boardgames on a nautical theme whilst the International Boatbuilding Training College will be running a series of lectures and hands on demonstrations of the skills involved in boat building. And to cap it all they have Father Christmas visiting on his summer holidays! He will be around the Dockyard Zone finding out who has been naughty and who has been nice so far this year so be sure to be ready to give an honest answer!
As ever, all the activities in the Kid’s Arena are TOTALLY FREE and don’t forget that your tickets will also allow you access to Southsea Castle, The Blue Reef Aquarium, The D Day Museum and Southsea Skate Park. With tickets only £25 per day for adults and £6 for 5-15 year olds until 3rd July (booking fee applies), Victorious remains the best value festival in the UK.
Alongside the Canoe Lake Leisure Kid’s Stage and Arena, Victorious will play host to an outstanding music bill over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Ray Davies, The Flaming Lips, Texas, Primal Scream, Super Furry Animals, Tinie Tempah, Basement Jaxx and Johnny Marr are just the tip of a line-up that encompasses over a hundred acts. With food and boutique stalls and a real ale tent on site, this is the perfect place for a family Bank Holiday to remember.
