Latitude Festival which takes place at Henham Park Estate , Southwold today announced a further batch of artists for this years event including a Sunday afternoon special guest appearance of Alison Balsom.

Alison, together with The English Concert, will perform  a programme of music straight from the Globe, performed by Balsom and The English Concert, and taken from The Kings and Queens of Handel and Purcell.

Texas will replace Modest Mouse who unfortunately had to cancel their scheduled tour.

Lead singer, Sharleen Spiteri, said “We are really excited to be playing Latitude this year.  The reaction to our new album ‘The Conversation’ has overwhelmed us and we know we are going to have a great time playing some of the new tracks to everyone!

Another new music addition is the rather regal singer-songwriter King Charles on The BBC Radio 6 Music Stage. 

All those festival goers seeking late-night thrills can follow the winding path through the woods to witness some of the most exciting DJs and electronic acts from the UK and further afield, with a bill curated by Tuesday Born with Audio Doughnuts, at the i Arena. With a varied selection of music from garage to UK funk to Afro-Electronic and more, festival goers can choose to dance from dusk ‘til dawn with Zed Bias, Romare, Roy Davis Jr, Werkha, Ossie, Busy Twist, Benin City, Lorca, Mungo’s Hi Fi, Tuesday Born, Shox and Anushka. Moshi Moshi DJs and Jen Long will be hitting the decks on The Lake Stage starting the party, with more DJ’s yet to be announced. 

Also on The Lake Stage Latitude welcomes three locally based additions. Plaitum, Port Isla, and To Be Frank .

Brand new for 2013 The Alcove stage will be tucked away near the banks of the lake showcasing upcoming acts, with some artists coming from the local area. First to be confirmed for this new stage are Catfish and the Bottlemen, Dems and Duologue.
