As the summer draws ever nearer we have even more goodies to reveal for our idyllic festi-holiday in the grounds of Lulworth Castle. With some cracking comedy exclusives and even more fantastic music joining our incredible line-up of joy that already includes Primal Scream, Blondie, Mark Ronson and the Business INTL, Laura Marling, House of Pain, Mr Tumble, The Gruffalo (Live), Shrek the Musical, with 100s of free things for kids to do and amazing food including Hugh Fearnley Whitingstall’s River Cottage Café, Kerstin Rodgers’ Underground Restaurant and Gizzi Erskine’s Tiki Tea Love Lounge Camp Bestival is set to be another corker!

As ever we have a fantastic array of side-splitting comics coming down to our haven on  Dorset’s Jurassic coast, including Jack Whitehall and Milton Jones, so we super-excited to be able to announce even more of the countries funniest comedians including an amazingly exciting exclusive appearance from the legendary Michael Winslow! A true Hollywood legend, best known for playing Sgt “Motor Mouth” Jones in the hugely successful Police Academy films, Michael will be performing his famous array of staggering special effects, astounding sounds, blowing your mind with the 1000s of noises he can create. His Big Top appearance is something you really don’t want to miss! The original vocal artist of the 20th century, Michael Winslow can imitate the impossible using only his voice. Whether it’s the frenzy of Jimmy Hendrix playing the guitar or a special treatfor Star Wars fans, Michael is the master of vocal gymnastics.

Another comedy exclusive comes in the form of Olivia Lee Chats Them Up. The star of Comedy Central’s ‘Olivia Lee: Dirty Sexy Funny’ and Channel 4’s ‘Balls of Steel’, Olivia will bring her unique brand of outrageous and fearless chat to Camp Bestival for the first time.  She’ll be posing her top name guests the questions you always wanted to ask but never dared… Previous victims include Will Smith and Keanu Reeves.  Now she’s posing the Festival’s top names the questions you always wanted to ask but never dared….

Ben Norris, one of the most sought after comperes on the circuit will also be at Camp Bestival. He was resident compere at Screaming Blue Murder in Wimbledon, introducing acts such as Lee Hurst and Harry Hill, and has since established himself with most of the UK's finest comedy venues, earning a reputation for his ability to work an audience and think fast on his feet.

At 28, Matt Kirshen's precision wit has already earned him an impressive reputation on the UK comedy circuit. His engagingly impish style is shot through with an intelligent and skilful talent that belies his youthful appearance, making him a firm favourite with audiences and fellow comedians alike, so we can’t wait to see him at Camp Bestival.

There will also be appearances in the comedy tent from Jeff Innocent, who puts a playful twist on his Cockney tough guy look, Jongleurs and Comedy Store compere Tim Clark, surrealist Canadian Tony Law, Tiernan Douieb who will perform his brilliant kids show and Camp Bestival stalwart Tim Fitzhigham who has been cracking up audiences since our first show in 2008. Plus there will be laugh a minute action from Benny Boot, Pete Cain, Paul McCaffrey, Neil Cole, Tom Craine, Luke Benson, Joel Dommett, Eric Lampaert, Nat Lurrtsema and Luke Toulson.

Brand new music additions to the line-up include Sunday Best’s very own Sound of Rum who took last year’s show by storm performing three times to a captivated audience, plus there will be a return appearance from Coopers Rage, grimy R&B from Encore, flowing prose from MC Wrec, pop, bluegrass, jazz, latin mash-up merchants Police Dog Hogan and underground house action from Shake resident Dave Hornby.

And lastly just a reminder that the ‘Queen of Baked Goods’ and cake-maker to the stars, Lily Vanilli is asking all Camp Bestival kids to design their very own Medieval cake. Everyone who enters a drawing of their design into the competition will be invited to a special tea party on Sunday afternoon where the cake masterpiece will be revealed and you’ll get to try a slice!

So make sure you get your kids’ cake designs, along with your full contact details so we can invite you to the party, sent to the Bestival Office - Address: Lily Vanilli Cake Competition, Camp Bestival, 25 Denmark Street, London, WC2H 8NJ - before the end of June, so Lily can choose the best one. The winning cake will be revealed at the festival!
