Reef, Katy B, The Cribs and Brand New Heavies are set to join Level 42, Maximo Park, Charlotte Church and The Feeling along with many other top acts at the Victorious Festival 2013. The family friendly event will also welcome children’s favourite, Peppa Pig, this August bank holiday!
Andy Marsh from The Belle Isle bar/restaurant, organisers of this year’s festival commented: “We are so excited to announce Indie art rockers and ‘life time achievement’ award-winners The Cribs! The amazing 3 piece will headline the Little Johnny Russell’s indoor arena on Sunday night. Dub step, garage, house, pop, RnB, break beat - Katy B will bring all this and more as she joins the main stage on Sunday night! And as Reef prepare for their 20th anniversary tour, the West Country rockers have chosen Victorious Festival to celebrate, catch them on the main stage on Sunday!”
However, the biggest celebrity of the bank holiday weekender will most likely be Peppa Pig! Along with brother George, the pair will appear on both Saturday and Sunday for photos and meet and greets. The popular duo can be found in the kid’s deck area which the organisers promise will be full of free attractions to keep kids entertained and avoid making a dent in parent’s pockets.
Victorious Festival is also pleased to announce the collaboration with local breweries, Irvin Company Brewers, CAMRA and multi-award winning pub The Leopold Tavern to bring over 100 real ales from across the country to the festival. The ‘shanty stage’ will entertain real ale drinkers all day and late into the evening with a mixture of rock, folk, acoustic and shanty bands. After a few choice pints of the brews on offer, food will be a necessity and drinkers can discover a variety of snacks, hot and cold, from pies to cheeses, designed to complement the array of beers.
The theme to the festival is ‘maritime’ in keeping with the world-famous naval attractions and traditions reflective of Portsmouth and Southsea. Lincoln Clarke, Chief Executive of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard said “The Victorious Festival is a great addition to the Historic Dockyard events calendar, allowing us to showcase the attractions to an audience who may not have thought to visit before. We are delighted to be working with local businesses to build an event that the whole city can enjoy and to also re-affirm Portsmouth as a desirable visitor destination.”
Victorious Festival promises to offer something for everyone over the two days and with tickets at just £15, children £5 and under 5s free, it would be silly to do anything else this August Bank Holiday weekend!
