The figures responsible for the UK's best big festivals – Glastonbury and Bestival – will be online to answer your questions at 1pm on Friday 11 May.

More than 300 bands are gathering for the Great Escape in Brighton this week, but the festival is more than just a celebration of new talent: running alongside it is a music industry convention, with figures such as the Guardian's Alexis Petridis discussing everything from how to get started in the business, the point of record reviews and how to get the most out of digital platforms.

The highlight of this melee is undoubtedly the "Great Festival Conversation", which will see Glastonbury's Michael Eavis and Bestival's Rob da Bank meeting to discuss the business of festivals, together with a number of younger promoters.

The event at the Pavilion Theatre on Friday afternoon is only open to convention delegates, but the good news is that prior to its start, Eavis and da Bank will be live online here to answer your questions.

Times are tough for several festivals, so this is your chance to ask arguably the two most important figures in the whole business their views on what can go wrong, and how to get it right.

Or ask anything you like: which acts they've both been proudest to see play at their events, for instance; who looks likely to complete the Bestival lineup this September; or is it really true that Glastonbury was postponed this year to help ensure enough portable toilets for the Olympics?

Soured The Guardian post your questions here and visit The Guardian from 1pm on Friday to see them answered.Posted by
