THE MAVERICK FESTIVAL FEATURED IN THE TIMES TOP 50 FESTIVALS THIS WEEKEND!
MAVERICK FESTIVAL announces yet another exciting addition to their festival programme this July. The legendary Gram Parsons/Flying Burrito Brothers bass player IAN DUNLOP will be in conversation with the Guardian‘s TIM DOWLING on Saturday 6th July. Ian will discuss his life on the road with GRAM PARSONS and his book, “Breakfast in Nudie Suits“ which documents their experiences together in the late sixties.
“We are really honored to have Ian attend this year, Ian is also an accomplished artist and some of his recent work will be on display in the festival gallery ”PAUL SPENCER (Curator). Festival-goers will also be able to ask Ian any questions they might have on the day.
Taking place on 5th, 6th and 7th July, the festival presents an array of world class musical talent, comedy, dance, film & workshops and show-cases more than forty international artists across FIVE stages, indoors and out.
Also added to this years line up is two time JUNO AWARD winning Canadian Folk artist Old ManLuedecke, Old Man' has been grabbing the attention all over the UK promoting his new Juno nominatedalbum Tender Is The Night, with his memorable melodies, poetic sense and easy charisma appealing to anyone searching new growth from old roots.
As a tribute to the current UK Americana scene, The Maverick Festival is excited to team up with Clubhouse Records to showcase the best in British Roots music on the opening night (Fri) of this year’s festival. The Peacock Cafe Stage will host an array of UK talent in amongst the picturesque Victorian farm buildings of Easton Park Farm, deep in the idyllic Suffolk countryside.
Featuring a spacious camp site, bell tent meadow and tipi village, and a carefully selected range of delicious food stands catering to meat-eaters and vegetarians alike with pizza, paella & pasta,Mexican chili, duck pancakes & crepes, hog-roast and hand-made hamburgers, cu pcakes & gourmet milk shakes, all washed down with freshly squeezed lemonade & freshly ground coffee, local Suffolk cider and a selection of award-winning regional ales, wine & lager.
