Lunar Festival returns to Warwickshire for another top dose of festival malarkey this weekend (5-7 June 2015).
The festival features a great array of talents including Tinariwen, Wilko Johnson, Public Service Broadcasting, The Bootleg Beatles, The Fall, Sun Ra Arkestra, Amazing Snakeheads, BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Mark Radcliffe Galleon Blast, Julian Cope, Allah-Las, Sylvan Esso, Goblin, and the Pretty Things.
There is also some splendid club nights planned including the likes of Magic Door, Freestyle & Dark Corner Disco Present Andrew Weatherall, Sam Redmore & Dean ‘Sunshine’ Smith, Swingamajig’s Speakeasy, Psychemagik’s Magik Forest Arabian Tent, Sensateria Feat. Richard Norris, and Modulate Presents Higher Intelligence Agency.
That’s not the half of it of course; there’s locally sourced food and drink, plenty to keep the kids occupied, and a whole host of non-musical entertainment ranging from Tai Chi and Green Crafts through to Bhangra Dancing and Bushcraft sessions.
Tanworth in Arden was the home of the legendary 70’s icon Nick Drake, and the festival pays homage to the great man each year – indeed a lucky few revellers are whisked away to listen to classic Drake material on his own vintage record player!
Lunar Festival is from the same production team behind the immensely successful Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul and Moseley Folk festivals - so expect a quality weekend.
