Ludovico Einaudi is the second act to be announced to headline the brand new series of spectacular concert experiences: Nocturne At Blenheim Palace. The minimalist haunting trademark Ludovico Einaudi sound will fill the Great Court at Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxfordshire on Sunday 28 June and is his only UK performance announced for 2015. Tickets go on sale on Friday 27 February.
He joins the outstanding line-up that already includes Grammy Award-winning American Jazz vocalist and songwriter Gregory Porter and legendary singer-songwriter and musician Van Morrison who are confirmed to perform at Nocturne at Blenheim Palace on Thursday 25 June.
Ludovico Einaudi’s unique style of composition has garnered him global recognition for his music’s use in films and advertisements including ‘Le Onde’ famous for it’s use in a John Lewis ad. He is arguably the most prolific contemporary composer. Crossing musical boundaries in 2011 Einaudi became the fourth most published artist behind Adele, Mumford & Sons and Glee. Championed by Radio 1’s Greg James and sampled on Professor Green’s ‘Astronaut’, in 2013 Einaudi became the first classical artist to smash through the digital/physical sales barrier, selling 72% of his album ‘In A Time Lapse’ as digital downloads. In 2013 Einaudi sold out an extraordinary series of seven concerts at London’s Barbican, as well as Camden’s Roundhouse and the Hammersmith Apollo reaching an incredible 21,000 concertgoers.
Nocturne at Blenheim Palace, will not only bring some of the world’s greatest musicians and performers to the stately palatial surroundings, but will also strive to provide one of the best midsummer concert experiences with champagne receptions, fine-dining and banquet packages available inside the State Rooms (including the stunning Long Library) of the 12th Duke of Marlborough’s family home, The Orangery and waterside picnicking.
The 12th Duke of Marlborough said, “I look forward to once again opening the gates of Blenheim Palace to these brilliant musicians and singers. The palace was meant to inspire as a location and the music in the Great Court will bring a new dimension of wonderment to our family’s history.”
Blenheim Palace is set in 2100 acres of spectacular ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland in the heart of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. The 300 year old palace is a World Heritage site and is one of the UK”s most famous and best loved stately homes located just 8 miles out of Oxford.
