Plus, new for this year and following the success of New York Sound City, we’ll be hosting two roundtable sessions per day - featuring a selection of the panelists, speakers and delegates attending LSC talking about the topics that matter to them and providing an up-close and personal networking opportunity for those present with a diverse range of music and digital industries professionals from around the world.

Finally, each day will close with a drinks reception in the bar of The Hilton - providing another chance to meet the people you need to meet.

Kicking And Screening comes to LSC

LSC are proud to announce that, as part of this year’s event, Kicking + Screening will be coming to Liverpool

Founded in 2009, Kicking + Screening Football Film Festival (K+S) is an annual global series of festivals dedicated to engaging, connecting, and inspiring football fans and film enthusiasts through the celebration and presentation of football culture.

Each year, K+S organize flagship festivals in New York City and London, and satellite festivals around the world. Past locations include: Amsterdam, Washington, D.C., Kerala, India, Houston, Texas, and North Adams, Massachusetts.

Beyond film screenings, K+S festivals include special guests, panel discussions, gala parties, photography, football-themed literature, and other events, all combining to create a unique cultural experience that both reveals and enhances football’s cultural significance.

Since the inaugural K+S festival in July 2009 in New York, thousands of festival attendees have been treated to premier soccer films, panels, football-themed readings, and much more. 2011 Festival Highlights

Liverpool Sound City presents PPL and FAC Open Session For Artists

Liverpool Sound City are very excited to announce that for the first time, we will be hosting a PPL Reception and networking event on Friday 18th May at The Hilton.

As part of the UK wide outreach program, Keith Harris, PPL Director of Performer Affairs, will chair a panel discussion that will inform artists of PPL’s role in the industry and why the PPL income is so important for performers.

Other members of the panel will include a representative from the PPL Performer Board and an artist from the FAC.

The session will be open to all LSC and local artists and there will be plenty of opportunity to engage with PPL during a Q & A session and the networking drinks that will take place afterwards.

Further details will be announced later this month.

Screenadelica at Liverpool Sound City 2012

Screenadelica is a gig poster exhibition, celebrating the art of the screen printed gig poster. Originating during Liverpool Sound City festival in 2010, this year the show has travelled to Barcelona for Primavera Sound festival, SITE Gallery in Sheffield, Bestival on the Isle of Wight and Orlando Calling in Florida.

Playing host to both UK and international artists, Screenadelica hosts a wide variety of styles promoting the bands the artists love, inspired by the music they hear. With digital download taking over the music scene, the desire to still own something physical makes the screen printed poster all the more important, driving artists to create pieces of art for each show which encapsulates the music in their eyes. This then means that rather than one artist representing the bands sound, they get a whole range of interpretations of their music thru the screen printed gig poster.

Screenadelica was founded by Liverpool based designer Horse but exists because of the artists that exhibit at the shows and the bands they design for.

Artists confirmed so far include:

SEAN MORT, TOBY WHITEBREAD, PETTING ZOO, HORSE, LUKE DROZD, TINY LITTLE HORSE, DIEGO MENA, ARMY OF CATS, MICHAEL COWELL, HANDCOOKED POSTERS, ERROR(ES), TWO DUCKS DISCO, L'IL TUFFY(USA), JUSTIN SANTORA(USA), WETHREECLUB, BRAG, DREW MILLWARD, FUGSCREEN STUDIOS(USA), KATE PRIOR, ADAM POBIAK(USA/UK), CRAIG ROBSON, SWITCHOPEN, JACKNIFE, TELEGRAMME, MARA PICCIONE(NL)

Sound City CEO Dave Pichilingi comments - "We're delighted to announce our latest raft of additions to the Sound City offering.  From our line-up of forward thinking panel topics, our PPL relationship and the return of the much-loved Screenadelcia art exhibition to our new relationship with Kicking + Screening football film festival, bringing football and music together under one roof, we're adding to the pop culture outlook of LSC”.
