Live from Jodrell Bank’s first event, Transmission 001 has now SOLD OUT.

Adding to the already interstellar line up synth-pop Liverpudlians Wave Machines join The Flaming Lips, British Sea Power, OK Go and Alice Gold on Saturday 2nd July 2011. Also confirmed to appear, joining British Sea Power on keyboards, will be Professor Brian Cox. Huge demand has seen tickets sell at light-speed for this highly intimate show. Details of further Transmissions will be unveiled later in 2011.

Creating pop-driven indie peppered with electronic beats and synthesizers, Wave Machines are the perfect addition to the other-worldly sounds that are set to radiate from the base of the Lovell Telescope this summer at Jodrell Bank. Awarded an Independent Music Award for Best Dance/Electronica song with their single Keep The Lights On, Wave Machines’ sound aligns perfectly with the eccentric offerings of The Flaming Lips, British Sea Power and Alice Gold.

Although better known these days as a particle physicist fronting the star gazing programmes of the BBC, Professor Brian Cox is no stranger to the stage as in the nineties he played keyboards with dance/pop band D:Ream.

Stepping up to the keys again, Professor Brian Cox will join British Sea Power on stage exclusively for the Live From Jodrell Bank performance.

Demand for this unique show at the stunning location has been huge. Live From Jodrell Bank Transmission 001 went on sale only three weeks ago and within that time music fans have snapped up all the tickets available.

The combination of world class music at a unique, and now UNESCO world heritage nominated site, has captured the imagination of audiences who will be rewarded with details of further Transmissions later in the year.
