LEE DENNY’S master plan to safeguard the independence of LeeFest was to set up a Kickstarter campaign. The #growLeeFest campaign was handed over to the public who succesfully raised it's target of £50,000 pledged with 600 ‘backers’. View the project on crowd funding website Kickstarter.  

Backers are set to receive exclusive rewards in return, including a place on The Campfire Cabinet, the festival’s board of directors. This group will make key creative decisions about the way the event is run in the future. Denny (25), reflects on his decision to grow the festival in this way: 

Most crowd funding projects give very physical rewards. We took a risk by going further and offering creative involvement – we’re delighted that over 600 people have jumped at the chance! I can’t wait to have them all involved in building the most unique festival in the world.

Named ‘Best Independent Festival 2012’ (AIM), LeeFest is quickly becoming the most talked about small festival in the UK. 

Noisettes, Delphic, King Charles, Friends and Clean Bandit have already been announced for LeeFest 2013, which takes place in SE London this July. Stanton Warriors, Friends & Public Service Broadcasting are also amongst the extensive list of acts set to appear across three live music stages. Weekend tickets are £70 and on sale now here:
