LeeFest is held on a small working farm, just on the outskirts of Bromley and Croydon in Kent and takes place on Fri 29th to Sat 30th June 2012.

Lee can you tell us how the festival came about.?

We were bored 16 year olds and my parents went on holiday. Before leaving they gave my friends and I one strict instruction: do not have a house party… so we did the logical thing and decided to have a festival in the garden!

What is the Leefest big yellow shuttle bus and what are your other green initiatives?

The yellow bus is run by a company called 'The Big Lemon', who develop friendly, affordable and environmentally-friendly bus services in order to give those without cars the freedom to get around easily and encourage those with cars to use public transport instead in order to help reduce global warming.

We run a big recycling programme and litter pick for about a week after the festival - my Dad is chief litter picker - and very proud of that title!

Is there any acts that you would like to book for LeeFest that you have not been able to as yet?

We're so chuffed with this year's line up - particularly Mystery Jets - can't wait to see them! Our big target is to one day get David Bowie headlining - he's from Beckenham like us so it would be a perfect match.

How are you able to keep the ticket price so low.? Do you think keeping things smaller and non for profit help keep the festival as you intended?

Yes, the not for profit label is something we're very proud of. We manage to keep the ticket price so low because we don't have to pay anyone to work for the festival - everyone is a volunteer which is an incredible thing and creates a brilliant atmosphere on site.

You say on the website that although you have chosen your acts for 2012 from all the musicians that applied that "artists can still come to the festival and perform willy nilly around the site"? How did this work out last year?

Last year we had lots of punters with instruments who played around the site. I think it's great to have on the spot entertainment, so we encourage it. There was some excellent singing around the campfire I seem to remember!

How did you come about choosing Kids Company charity as your given charity?

We saw the work they were doing and really felt like it was relevant to young people and london - two things that we really care about as a team. So we approached them, and Camilla who runs Kids Co was very enthusiastic about LeeFest and happy to have us on board.

Is the site being in the woods easily accessible for people with disabilities?

Yes it certainly is. We are lucky to have a large open space that is mostly flat, and anyone with a disability can bring their carer to LeeFest for free.

What about the food and drink at the festival this year?

We have lots of different food vendors offering various treats at affordable prices. My highlight last year was the chocolate churros  - they were incredible! This year at the bar we'll be offering a much better selection of beer and wine, including some local ales :)
