She’s brilliant, beautiful and back in the Brecon Beacons – Green Man welcomes the incredible Laura Marling as his very special guest for 2011!

A leading light of contemporary British folk, Laura was one of the stars of last year’s festival, telling thousands of Green Man fans: “This is the one I’ve been waiting to play!”

A bewitching performer with a spellbinding voice and a truly beguiling stage presence, it is no coincidence that her two albums to date were both nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.

I Speak Because I Am, released to critical acclaim in 2010, was a staggeringly confident coming of age record that married rich American instrumentation with a thoroughly English, unapologetically female sophistication.

Laura was also crowned Best Female Solo Artist at this year’s Brits, making it all the more remarkable that such a mature songwriting talent only turned 21 earlier this year.

With a much-anticipated third album nearing completion, Laura joins the superb headliners Fleet Foxes, Iron & Wine and Explosions In The Sky at the top of our ever-expanding bill for Green Man 2011.
