Salisbury Arts Centre’s new Media Dreamspace comes to Larmer Tree Festival!
Wednesday 11th-Sunday 15th July 2012
Designed to inspire creativity, this is a chance for festival-goers to immerse themselves in a media dream world, with filmmaking, animation, broadcasting and much more. Located near the Flag Circle in The Village, there’ll be a packed programme of drop-in workshops and interactive performances, which will enable people to explore a world of imagination through media tools, get hands on with high-tech gadgets or join the Roving Reporter team.
Julia Safe, Co-Director of Lamer Tree Festival, said: “We have a great, longstanding relationship with Salisbury Arts Centre including most recently having programmed the music for their Acoustic Cafe gigs. And, now we’re extremely pleased to be welcoming their creative team to Larmer Tree for the first time, it promises to be a brilliant hotbed of media activity - we can’t wait to drop by and see what’s going on!”
The Media Dreamspace Tent will be open from 12pm to 6pm on Thursday to Sunday and will feature things to divert people’s attention for a few minutes and others to keep them amused for hours. There’s something for all ages and abilities to get involved in. There will also be a video diary booth for festival-goers to share their Larmer Tree experiences, and screenings of all the footage and material being generated as fast as the onsite media monkeys can edit it ready for projection.
Simon Morris, Salisbury Arts Centre’s Media Dreamspace Programmer, said: “We are very excited to be part of the Larmer Tree experience and we hope this year’s Media Dreamspace will surprise and stimulate festival-goers.”
The Media Dreamspace is part of a bursting programme of entertainment from colourful street theatre to exciting shows and workshops for the whole family to enjoy. And of course there’s an eclectic music and great comedy line-up.
Festival tickets include all entertainment, free parking and camping for tents, caravans and campervans so there are no additional costs. A three day ticket costs £140 per adult but festival-goers can enjoy a four or five day weekend for only an extra £25 or £50 respectively. For Tickets click Here
