Land of Kids has announced some new additions to the festival which takes place in two weeks time over the bank holiday weekend in Dalston.

Punchdrunk Enrichment bring another signature extraordinary experience to Dalston with a Story Balloonist adventure. The balloonists travel the world collecting and sharing stories, and fresh from their discovery of a magical storytelling elixir brewed by an eccentric local botanist, seek the assistance of families and children in harnessing the power of this powerful tonic.

Sink The Pink will bring their gym to the event with their UV holiday camp aerobic classes. ‘Walala UV Room’ by Hackney designer Camille Walala, this takes Flashdance to a whole new level, complete with UV facepainting & UV bubble machine. The Sink the Pink clan will also be making an appearance on the Main Stage, alongside the stirring instrumentation of 25 young musicians in the Hackney Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Caribbean shimmers of Pan Nation Steel Orchestra, Cut A Shine’s raucous Ceilidh, and good-time family boogie from Disco Loco.

For the less Dirty Dancing-inclined, independent children’s publishing house Anorak beckon the Jefferson Hacks and Anna Wintours of tomorrow with their Magnificent Magazine Making Machine. Using an array of stamps, stencils and stationary to rival Conde Nast’s cupboards, children can create and publish their own mini-mag.

Pomp de Franc Cake Society bring their exquisitely edible artistry to the Pearly King & Queen’s High Tea, where Aldene Johnson, stylist to Florence & The Machine and now HAIM (winners of the BBC’s Sound of 2013 Award) will be on hand. Contributing Fashion Editor at Vice, she’ll be lending her own pearls of style guru wisdom as little hands design to their hearts content, embellishing a Pearly King or Queen hat of their own. Hats, buttons, and glue will be provided, all you’ll need is creative flair!

Bespoke kids party outfit Sweethearts and Scallywags present Rummage, a grand-scale scavenger hunt enticing young explorers to follow the trail of clues throughout the festival, discovering activities along the way. Chance upon the Curly Locks & Party Frocks Pop Up Photo Booth bedecked in vintage props, weave enchanting DIY dreamcatchers at Jazz Domino Holly’s Handmade Hangout, find the colour-splattered lair of Indikidual’s Scooter Paint Party, where kids let their wheels be the brush on a floor canvas of epic proportions, or slide over to the Mothers Meeting corner, the hub for taste-making brand-conscious mamas, as they team up with bambino party-starters Showreel Events for a sonic workshop designed to take young ones on an interactive sound journey using sound effects, multi-sensory props, puppetry and dress-up.

Join whimsical duo Robin & Partridge for the Mad Hatter’s Unbirthday Parties, squeezing the unbirthday bash into fifteen minutes of nonsense, chanting, adventure, jumping, and cake. Join the Mad Hatter himself as he crawls through the secret bedsheet tunnel to his peculiar party den, crammed with curious maps, fairy lights, compasses and cupcakes. Hosted by Momma Loves, and with goody bags care of Claire’s Accessories, this is one shindig where everyone’s the guest of honour.

Frugal lifestyle warrior and Free Our Kids blogger Hattie Garlick invites children to help build Land of Kids’ very own Cardboard Kingdom armed with just cardboard, kiddy scissors, and tape – and a boundless imagination of course. Elsewhere, tiny tots and tired toes settle into the soft play area in association with Nanny Network.
