Blimey, just a matter of days to the inaugural Lakefest, which takes place 18th-19th May at Croft Farm Waterpark in Gloucestershire. This should be a cracker; these guys have form in putting on great events, and from what we hear, the facilities and the waterpark itself are in absolutely tip top shape to welcome thousands of revellers this weekend.

And what about the line-up – your £79 (including camping!) buys you access to artists the calibre of Athlete, EMF, 3 Daft Monkeys, and The Roving Crows amongst a wealth of other talent over the weekend…. plus more Ciders at the parallel beer festival than you can shake a stick at – what is there not to like?

Local Hero’s and recently reformed EMF will be playing Schubert Dip in its entirety, and you can expect great festival performances for established festival favourites like Reef, Dodgy, and the splendid Toploader. There is class throughout the bill with this one…. Oh, and the beer festival will feature a Tour Of Europe theme, so all of you Belgium Trappists out there will feel totally at home!

Festivals For All recently interviewed Lee Martin, one of the guys behind the festival, and here’s what he said about the very, very, special appearance of EMF “There is obviously huge local significance with EMF…. They are one of THE Gloucestershire bands and they have legendary status were we live. It was a real coup for us getting those guys and they have generated massive interest locally.”

The location at the waterpark sounds absolutely top too; Lee again “Remember this is a superb location; we already have an established camp site with a beautiful lake and some great sunsets across The Malvern Hills. Its tailor made for events like this. We have Tipi’s up all year round. There are Pods there as well. It’s all permanent. You can even hire a canoe to sail down the river to the pub! It’s a really cool place!  You can read the full interview HERE.

Looks like Gloucestershire will be bouncing (and swaying) this weekend!

Lakefest is held at Croft Farm Waterpark near Tewksbury Friday & Saturday 18th-19th May 2012.
