Katherine Jenkins has announced that she will be playing a Forest Live concert on Sun 20 July at at Westonbirt Arboretum, nr Tetbury, Gloucestershire. One of the fastest-selling mezzo-soprano ever, to date Katherine has released nine studio albums, all of which have sold in excess of seven million copies and gone platinum around the world. She has received numerous awards for her recordings, including two Classical BRITS for the coveted Album of the Year Award.
Due to international demand, Katherine spends much of her time touring the world. In 2013 alone she toured South Africa, the US, China, Japan, Abu Dhabi, and also continental Europe, cementing her position as one of the UK’s greatest musical exports. Her most recent accolade is receiving an OBE in the 2014 New Year Honours List for services to music and charity, in particular, her work with the armed forces.
Katherine Jenkins last played the venue to a capacity crowd in 2008, and commenting on her forthcoming concert she said, “I am really looking forward to returning to Westonbirt Arboretum this summer to perform again in such a beautiful location.” The concert will include a selection of Katherine’s favourite works as well as classic proms repertoire.
