Just So has announced its plan to go tribal for the weekend of its prize-winning family festival, to be held over the weekend of 17th-19th August. All four thousand of the audience will be designated as members of different animal tribes – including Owls, Frogs, Stags, Lions, Fish and Foxes – with the support of sponsor National Geographic Kids Magazine.
Having made their animal masks at the festival menagerie, the tribes will make wild music with Manchester’s extra-ordinary ensemble, ‘Classical Revolutions’, creating Just So’s version of ‘The Carnival of the Animals’. Then they’ll go on the hunt for their fellow tribe members - including the elusive leader of their tribe – and following further animal magic the tribes will all come together for the legendary carnival of chaos, the Wild Rumpus parade on the Sunday evening.
With ticket sales going brilliantly, and a new venue in the glorious form of Rode Hall in South Cheshire, organisers Rowan Hoban and Sarah Bird can’t wait to get things underway. “With the fantastic array of quality programming on offer,” says Sarah, “this will surely be our best year yet. Our audience come together as part of a wonderfully, dynamic and exciting festival community and we are really looking forward to welcoming them.”
Festival Director Rowan Hoban had full faith that the audience would rise to the animal challenge saying “Our audience are such a talented creative bunch we know they’ll love this. They already wow us with their singing, dancing, storytelling, acting and general all round exuberance, we can’t wait to see them immerse themselves in the animal world”
The family camping festival has gone from strength to strength since it began to wow families with its eclectic mix of arts programming for the whole family. Taking high quality arts outdoors and surprising and inspiring festival goers across the generations from the very youngest babies through to grandparents.
