Brighton is set to play host to the UK’s first major annual conference on Electronic Music - Brighton Music Conference (BMC). The conference present over 50 panels and seminars, multiple club nights and an exhibition of all things electronic music related, over Friday 11 & Saturday 12 April.
Debates, seminars and key note lectures will cover everything from the role of radio for digital music through to piracy issues, and from the future role of social media for artists and fans through to understanding the ever changing revenue streams, with participation by the likes of esteemed industry leaders and top DJs such as Jono Grant Above & Beyond, DJ Pierre, Judge Jules, Eats Everything, Dave Seaman, Dave Clarke, Lisa Lashes, Dave Pearce, Mark Williamson (Spotify Director), Terry Weerasinghe (Beatport VP) John TrueLove (Truelove Music) & Bobby Simms (Popshop Agency)
DJs announced for the club nights, so far, comprise the likes of Dave Clarke, AND.ID, DJ Pierre, DJ Spen, Sebo K, Phil Asher, C-Soul, Hoi!, Tony Montana, Steve Mac, & nights by Wiggle, Mobilee Records, J00F, Black Rock Records, LOST and many more.
There will also be an exhibition of the latest equipment, including the exclusive UK premiere of Roland’s highly anticipated Aira products, along with showcases from Ableton, Native Instruments, Point Blank & Novation, as well as a discussion on the History of Electronic Music with Bill Brewster, co-author of the seminal book Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, DJ Mag’s Carl Loben, Funktion Ones Tony Andrews and Hacienda legendary resident DJ, Dave Haslam
