On this year's Friday line-up, Gilles Peterson commented:

"Quite exceptional was my immediate reaction to the Friday at Field Day. Seeing Erykah is always a special thing, she’s a major icon and always delivers something extra special. Hailu Mergia is Ethiopian royalty and Tony Allen with Jeff Mills is a collaboration I don’t want to miss. All these alongside the finest of the current British beyonder groups playing on home turf! Let's hope the sun shines”.
