Summercamp today confirmed that 2 Bears, Ewan Peason, Optimo, Nathan Fake and Lunar Modular have been added to the bill. These DJs are the headliners of a late night line-up ensuring Summercamp-ers are kept entertained into the small hours in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle. An already stellar music bill will now also include founding member of The Beta Band, Steve Mason, a performer often sighted as a forerunner in indie-electronic experimentation. Early bird tickets are now sold out however, standard weekend passes at only £50 can be purchased here.

The early hours will be in good hands at Summercamp as Hot Chip members, producers and remixers Joe Goddard and Raf Rundell take to the decks under their 2 Bears guise. Their twists on house sounds are spun regularly on radio and 2 Bears sets are firm festival favourites. Also at Summercamp will be Ewan Pearson, a DJ and studio whizz who has worked with names as diverse as Gwen Stefani and M83, via The Chemical Brothers and more. Last but by no means least will be an eclectic, leftfield set from Glaswegian duo Optimo, sublime, ambient techno courtesy of Nathan Fake and local electronic new-comers Lunar Modular.

Ahead of the Summercamp dancefloor-hours the stage will be all Steve Mason’s. From his days as guitarist in Gene, to fronting The Beta Band, Mason has been a constant figure of the indie scene. Fast forward to 2013 and Mason has unleashed yet another wonderful solo record ‘Monkey Minds In The Devil’s Time’ inspired by, amongst other things, the shocking London Riots of 2011.

Described by The Guardian as an “anarchic arts centre”, The Kazimier have collaborated with Summercamp on the ‘Kazimier Krunk stage’. In keeping with their ethos of experimental and out-there entertainment the Kazimier collective have amassed sounds as varied as West African dance, live improvised electronica to psychedelic rock. Kazimier Krunk stage will feature Mamadou and Super Libador Band, Harelquin Dynamite Marching Band, Godwosh, Dead Hedge Trio, DJ Mime and Fox and Wolf.

KIDS AND FAMILIES

Wild Rumpus, producers of the Just So Festival have assembled engaging, high quality arts with families central to the focus for part of Summercamp’s offering. Over the weekend crafts will include feather headdress and lantern making, in preparation for an illuminated lantern parade later in the evening. Performances include clowning and music from mysterious duo FinkSoup. From 11am until 7pm kids at Camp and Furnace get their own light-up dance floor, expect to be joined by woodland creatures including Fox and friends throughout the day for dancing competitions.

As previously announced Summercamp will also feature sets from Mount Kimbie, Ghostpoet, Martha Wainwright and more, art in collaboration with Liverpool Biennale and taste-bud tantalising food courtesy of venue Camp and Furnace. Part of the Liverpool International Music festival, this new event is a summer must-do.  Summercamp takes place 24th and 25th August in and around venue Camp and Furnace within the Liverpool Baltic Triangle.
